We believe emotional healing is absolutely possible, dialectics are central, and collaboration is necessary, beneficial, and fruitful.

Alexis Faison, LAC

Alexis Faison's case conceptualization, assessment, and treatment planning are informed by Culturally Responsive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She helps her clients identify, challenge, and adjust maladaptive beliefs and behaviors through CBT. However, in her clinical work, her role goes beyond helping clients replace negative thoughts. She also helps them explore how culture influences and impacts their life, including their therapeutic work. No therapeutic strategies or techniques are universal for all clients; thus, addressing her client's unique cultural experiences matters.

Alexis is passionate about dismantling structural barriers that impede access to culturally responsive mental healthcare. She advocates and provides spaces for clients to feel seen, heard, and validated.

Alexis is a compassionate, empathic, and transparent counselor. She enjoys meeting clients where they are and helping them accomplish their goals. She is passionate about working with diverse populations and focusing on the therapeutic relationship while providing telehealth services.

Alexis has experience across various settings s including residential and outpatient treatment centers, university counseling centers, and private practice. She has earned both a PhD in Counseling Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling from ASU. Alexis is working under supervisor Dr. Buffy Wooten.

Alexis loves spending time with her husband and two daughters in her spare time.
